Are fat tyres practical or just aesthetic?

Something I have noticed a lot more, especially when it comes to e-bikes, is how fat tyres seem to be quite popular, and it got me wondering. Are fat tyres practical and better when it comes to riding an e-bike, or is it just more for aesthetics?

Do you have fat tyres on your e-bike? What was your reason for getting fat tyres?

They are sturdy and can withstand rough terrains. I don’t like the way they make the bikes look though, far from being aesthetically appealing.

I have used different types of tires on my ebikes and bases on my experience I can say fat tires are more practical. They absorb bumps better, add stability, and handle rough roads well. On the negative side, they are little heavier and less efficient.

I agree, they make the bike look out of proportion, I find. The tyres tend to be the size of car tyres, not something you would see on bikes, so it is quite weird to see them on e-bikes.

I use more fat tyres on my ebike simply because of the landscape where I ride. I don't use using the normal ebike tyres will survive in this terrain for a month.
