E-Bikes are one of technology products which can't be plugged charging and still being used at the same time like laptops and smartphone. They have to be completely unplugged before being used.

Have you ever experienced any difference in your e-bike performance because it was overcharged?

I think most modern e-bike batteries have built-in protection that stops “overcharging,” so leaving it plugged in overnight usually won’t cause immediate damage. However, rhe real issue is long-term stress on battery when you consistently keep the battery at 100 percent for long periods.

E-bike's Battery Management System (BMS) surely helps to prevents overcharging but leaving the battery plugged in for extended periods after it's full can still cause gradual degradation, heat buildup and equally reduce the lifespan of the battery. This is why it's never advisible to plug your e-bike battery charging overnight.

I believe nowadays e-bike batteries tend to have a cut-off when you are charging them to prevent you from overcharging your battery, and it lowers the life of the battery.

I have always liked that we now see cut off when charging batteries, as it can be so easy to overcharge and not realise.
