The average lifespan of lithium ion e-bike batteries lies in the range of 500 to 800 charge cycles based on make and quality. One complete charge cycle equals the discharge of the battery from 100 percent till zero. First thing one should do when an e-bike arrives, is charging the battery fully to allow calibration and extend its life. This can be very useful in extending the life as batteries are quite costly, making the efforts worth it. In case, the e-bike has been standing idle for months, don't jump onto it immediately. This will cause the self-discharge process to begin, hence charging to a partial level is recommended. If you are going to store your bike in the winter months, I suggest charging your battery to 40% to 60% if it is going to be idle for a few months
