If your e-bike does 40mph, calling it a bicycle is dishonest.

This is a debate that I hear a lot, and whilst some disagree with this, others tend to agree with it, so I feel it really is a personal opinion at this point, as there really is no right or wrong, not in terms of any laws, at least I don't believe.

If your e-bike does 40mph, can it be called a bicycle?

I can understand why some people feel that way. At 40 mph or say around 65 km/h, an e-bike starts performing much more like a lightweight motorcycle or moped rather than what most people traditionally think of as a bicycle. My ebike comes with 25 kilometres range and is alas pedal assisted, so it is more like a normal bicycle

Well it is still a hike nonetheless, but we can say that it isa grade A bike. A motorcycle requires a combustion engine to qualify as one, which E-bike does not have.
