Should e-bikes be banned from regular bike lanes once they go over a certain speed?

As far as I am aware, e-bikes can use regular bike lanes when it comes to riding on the road, but there have been many who have questioned whether e-bikes should still be able to use regular bike lanes once they go over a certain speed limit, or should they join regular traffic once they go over a specific speed limit.

What are your thoughts? Do you feel e-bikes should still be able to use regular bike lanes once they go over a certain speed?

In our place there are no rules for speed. People use cycle lanes for ebikes and sometimes they go over 25 km per hour, thus, causing risks for normal bikes. I think there should speed rules for ebikes that go over certain speed limit while using cycling lanes.

Every e-bike have a max speed which it can clock going its fastest. I know when they are going too fast, it's dangerous for other people who are not using e-bikes or people walking but I don't think it's enough for them to ban e-bikes on regular bike lanes because they are overspeeding. We can't ask for the government to create another extra lane for e-bikes only because they are overspeeding.

E-bikes can also be referred to as vehicles. So they should be able to observe the speed limits as well.

I totally agree with you on that. Going above speed limits should be punished. It doesn't make any sense for those using ebikes to go above approved speeds while riding their bikes.

It's a very big problem to deal with because I expect human beings to behave like jerks which some of them are. They don't care about putting other people's lives at risk as long as they are doing what they wanted. If there's no serious punishment for overspeeding, this problem with never be solved.
