Should fast e-bikes require insurance?

At the moment, as far as I am aware, unless anything has changed and I have missed it, those who use e-bikes do not require insurance, despite the fact that they can reach speeds as high as a car.

Do you feel e-bikes that run at speeds as fast as a car, the users of these should require insurance?

In our place, insurance isn't mandatory for ebikes but escooters, just like other vehicles need insurance. Some people who are using expensive ebikes are insuring their ebikes as a safety measure.

Yes of course, e-bikes that are too fast should have insurance because of the risk that's associated with anything that moves too fast just like cars. It's the best interest of the owner to seek for their e-bikes like that to have insurance.
