Why do some ebikes lose range so quickly?

If you look into the market, you can see a lot of manufacturers advertise big mileage, but once you start using ebikes yourself, range seems to drop faster than expected. Maybe the heat, charging habits, rider weight, and road conditions affecct performance.

How much range loss have you experienced over time? What do you think caused this?
